What to do if you’ll be away, or no one will be home, on Census Test night.

Outside the home on Census Test night

When completing your Census Test, you should also include anyone who’ll be away on Census Test night if they’re returning on Wednesday 6 August 2025 and not included on a form elsewhere (for example, shift workers at work on Census Test night and returning the following day). 

Otherwise, if you're the only one at home on Census Test night, only include yourself. 

No one at home on Census Test night

Only people who are in selected areas and get instructions need to complete the Census Test.
