We want to make sure that everyone can complete the Census. There are a range of help and support options available that may assist you to complete your form.

Getting someone to help you

You can ask a trusted person to help you fill out your Census form. This could be a family member, a carer or a friend.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

We’re working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia to make sure everyone can take part and be counted in the 2026 Census. 

Accessibility of the online form and website

Census online form

The online form for the Census has been built to be user-friendly and inclusive.

It includes keyboard navigation to support assistive technologies. It will also filter questions so that only items relevant to you are shown.

The Census website and online Census form are designed to comply with the Australian Government Digital Service Standard and aim to meet the latest WCAG Guidelines which describe how to make web content more usable and accessible for everyone.
