Australian Defence Force
Australian Defence Force
Has the person ever served in the Australian Defence Force?
(Q52 in the Census Household Form)
Why we collect this information
Information exists about people who are currently serving in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). However, there is not a lot of information about people who used to serve. The Department of Veterans Affairs knows about the people who use its services, but doesn't have as much information about service people who don’t.
We ask this question to collect information about the number of people who have served in the army, navy, air force or another part of the ADF. Service providers can better deliver facilities and support for veterans by learning more about:
- their age
- their sex
- where they are currently living
- their employment status.
This question is only asked of people aged 15 years and over.
How to answer this question

- Select all that apply to the person.
